I'll be honest. Up until last week, Jeff and I were feeling pretty ill-prepared for the upcoming new addition to our family. (You're telling me that
poop can be a projectile?) Me being the youngest child, and Jeff being...Jeff, we haven't had much exposure to children. (Wait, babies
don't drink water?) But we've been learning a lot these last seven months thanks to family members, friends, classes, and lots of reading - and our knowledge on children and pregnancy has grown by leaps and bounds. (
Of course I'm familiar with Braxton Hicks contractions.) As it turns out, for being so little, babies need
a lot of stuff. (What the frig is a Bumbo?) Luckily, I have an awesome family, and they threw me a wonderful baby shower. (Chicken salad and cheesecake?! How did you know!?) Now, Jeff and I have just about everything we need for little Baby M when he arrives this October. (OMG! The Graco Pippin Pack-and-Play!)
Thank you so much to everyone for the wonderful day!

Even though Jeff and I weren't exactly ready, one member of our family has been prepared for Baby M from the start.
Eddie, the happy protector, spends a lot of time in this room these days. Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night, I find him sitting in here, patiently waiting for October.
I can't wait either, Ed.
Oh Chrissy, the ending of this post made me get all teary eyed. I can't wait for October either.
ReplyDeleteWell, Chrissy, we can't wait for baby Meeusen to come either!! Looks like a baby room, all right. And, who has their own built in body guard. Way to go, Eddie. Let nothing pass that shouldn't. Love this!!!!
